Duties/Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Sub Office, Oecusse , the Store Keeper will be responsible for, and not limited to, the following duties:
-Receive all the WFP food and non-food commodities;
-Maintain clean and pest-free storing conditions;
-Supervise the work of casual laborers. Ensure that proper control systems and adequate machanisms for handling and stacking of the cargo are put employed; acknowledging receipt/dispatch for the quantities received/dispatched by signing off recept/delivery waybills/orders.
-Provide overall supervision and training of tally clerks and casual labourers;
-Providing control and being directly responsible for the quantity/quality of commodities; looking for any sign of early deterioration through periodical inspections and physical inventories of the stacks, and taking appropriate corrective actions and reporting immediately on findings.
-Isolating the commodities that can cause food contamination for proper disposal procedures;
-Deliver goods on request against official and approved documentation.eg. FRN, LTI, etc;
-Dispose the spoiled food commodities in accordance with WFP food disposal procedures;
-Keep records of commodities in the warehouse, through daily stock movement reports, stack cards, and Monthly physical counting reports;
-Check the infrastructure of the warehouse, if it is adequate for the proper storage of food items, looking at the roof, windows, doors, walls, floor and waste disposal mechanism, proposing corrective measures when needed;
-Responsible for the repacking/reconstitution/salvaging operations for any torn/damaged commodities or bags/cans;
-Liaise with field monitors and others on matters pertaining to logistics;
-Perform any other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
Qualifications/Experience:
Secondary School education.
At least 3 years of progressively responsible support experience including at least 1 year the field of warehousing, transport, administration, accounting, statistics or another related field.
Sound judgment, initiative and integrity; ability to extract, interpret, analyze and format data and to resolve operational problems. Experience in utilizing computers including word processing, spreadsheet and other software packages.
Must be able to work effectively under time constraints and pressure and to deal patiently and tactfully with staff members at all levels and with others.
Fluency in both oral and written English. Knowledge of local languages.
