St John of God Health Care has a longstanding commitment to working with developing nations in the Asia-Pacific region to improve health outcomes. 
Significant resources have been dedicated to improving healthcare in East Timor in particular, with the establishment of both a Nursing and Pathology program.

We are now recruiting a suitably qualified manager to fulfill the role of Country Manager - Timor Leste. This role, based at the Hospital Nacional Guido Valadares Hospital in Dili, will be full-time with a contract being offered through to the end of 2014 with the possibility to extend.

The Country Manager will be responsible for advising on building effective relationships and trust, as well as advising on best practice for building the capacity of our Timorese partners.

They will be required to work with program managers and teams to develop, implement, evaluate and report on projects and plans, as well as policies, procedures, systems and practices related to the occupational health, safety and security of caregivers living and working in Timor Leste.

The Country Manager will be expected to support caregivers and teams, all fleet and other assets, and supervise overall funds allocation and reconciliation of finances channelled to Timor Leste.

The successful candidate will possess a degree in either a health related discipline, education or international development and have previous experience working in a developing country.
They will also have strong written and verbal communication skills, project management experience, and the ability to foster a positive culture that encourages partnership, collaboration and consultation is also essential.

Fluency in Tetum, Spanish, Portuguese or Bahasa Indonesia and the willingness to commit to understanding and working within the culture of the Timorese people is also essential.
