Job Title : Field Monitoring & Evaluation Officer (8)
Program : School Dropout Prevention Pilot Project (SDPP)
Report To : National M&E and Research Specialist
Duty Station : To be decided. Must be prepared to be placed in the appropriate field
Office.
Job Summary:
The Field Monitoring & Evaluation Officer is responsible for
A. Implementing project’s M&E plan in the field under the guidance and supervision of the National M&E Specialist. This will include:
1. Conducting frequent visits to all SDPP project schools (both intervention and control schools) – meet with school administrators, teachers, students, parents, and other community members to verify and collect information;
2. Producing short insightful reports on his/her school visits to provide both the technical and M&E units with greater insight into project activities in the field;
3. Assisting in conducting both quantitative and qualitative research projects by leading small research teams in the field;
4. Conducting regular meetings with MoE M&E staff and other stakeholders at both district and sub-district levels to ensure the consistency of the data collected;
B. Database Updating under the guidance and supervision of the database coordinator.
5. Updating the databases based upon the verification of the field data; and
6. Assisting with data entry and data cleaning.
C. Any other task assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education |
Completed a relevant diploma degree |
Work Experience |
At least three years of experience in data collection and knowledge of school dynamics in Timor-Leste preferably with previous experience in education projects in Bobonaro, Ermera, and Liquica districts; and knowledge of the Education Management Information System (EMIS) in Timor-Leste. |
Skills |
Ability to produce accurate, detailed, and insightful reports; Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and familiar with Microsoft Access; Interview skills; Training skills; Ability to work on multiple things at once (multitask); Strong personal and organizational skills; Ability to work in diverse teams; Ability to drive a motorbike in unsealed roads; Willing to work in rural and remote areas of Timor-Leste. |
Languages |
Fluency in Tetun and knowledge of one or more Western Timorese Languages (Mambae, Bunak, Kemak or Tokodede), basic English language skills desirable. |
