The U.S. Embassy in Dili is seeking an individual for the position of Custom & Shipment Assistant in its General Services Office located at Rua Praia dos Coqueiros Dili, Timor-Leste.

POSITION: Custom & Shipment Assistant (Full Performance)               

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The incumbent will be working under the direct supervision of the General Services Officer and Procurement Supervisor. This position has the responsibility to arranges and facilitates the incoming and outgoing shipment and customs clearance for private property and U.S. Government property. Arranges for the pickup, customs clearance, storage and delivery of incoming shipments. Arranges the shipment and customs clearance for outgoing private and U.S. Government property including preparing all of the necessary customs declarations and associated paperwork. Maintains contacts with working level personnel of host country customs and other government officers to facilitate shipment and customs clearances and related matterrs. Assists U.S. personnel with customs clearance, registration, inspection and licensing of POVs. Maintain shipping records.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1) Completion of secondary school is required; 2) Minimum 2 years experience in the field of real estate management & 1 year of working experience in travel transport or custom field is required; 3) Good working knowledge of English (Level III) is required; 4) Good knowledge of local travel possibilities, regulations, lessing & housing program plus customs and transport regulations.
